Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush

Remember that TV show, Australians? I used to sneak behind the couch and watch an episode or two when my parents would watch it.

Nope, this post has nothing to do with television. It’s about your toothbrush.

When was the last time you updated your toothbrush? A month? 6 months? Over a year? A friend of mine said ‘… over a year … last time my dentist gave me one for free …’ the other day and I pretty much flipped out.

When I was around the age of 10 I watched the film Getting Even with Dad for the first time. In the film, Macaulay Culkin’s character replaces his father’s toothbrush without him knowing. His father (played by Ted Danson) confronts him about it and says things like ‘I liked the way it frayed at the ends.’ Macaulay’s character explains that a toothbrush needs to be replaced every 3 months. This little fact has been embedded in my brain ever since.

The first sentence on this About.com article confirms that.

Don’t be like my friend: Renew your toothbrush every few months (c’mon, it’s only about $20/year for a good disposable toothbrush), and brush your teeth at least twice daily.

  • Mother
You what?! Snuck behind the couch. That was your Dad watching that show. I am far too sophisticated and probably out buying you a new toothbrush!

My dear child - would you please do me a favor and review the films you watched as a child you say developed you.......my my my.......now I know where things went wrong -- or perhaps right.

Love from afar in Oz-land to you - such a wise boy figuring out how much it costs to keep you oral clean, sounds a bit anal to me, but whatever. As long as Pierre sticks by you, so will I. xx
  • Awesome entry, maybe I'll put it to good use next time I go grocery shopping ;)
  • Whenever that is... *rolls eyes*
