Hottest Geek Girls

Cadie and JustineToday Greg linked me to this Manolith (a men’s blog run by Dailymix. Think: Maxim) article featuring the 12 Hottest Geek Girls.

The first thing I noticed is that I only knew of about half the girls. I’m a geek. Why haven’t I heard of these other ones? I don’t doubt that they’re geeks. That’s just my first observation.

Next, the hilarious statement in the first paragraph about Justine:

There are criteria that must be met to make a proper geek girl; she must be geeky, she must be a techie, and she must be hot. Too many misconceptions are throwing off the curve, and people need to understand that receiving a 300 page phone bill does not make a girl geeky. It makes her a stereotype that is far older, and less respectable.

Sure, Justine has sold her blonde hair and dog videos out to YouTube, but if you know her (or stalk her), then you’ll know she’s studied graphic design and knows her way around Final Cut Pro, the Internet, and Mac OS X. The 300-page phone bill craziness has very little to do with being a geek. It was just a vlog.

I’m not defending Justine (though, she is my friend). I’m just telling the facts. Justine is a geek and she is attractive to most (I much prefer the original hair colour), but seeing her on some “hottie list” would just be too obvious and make viewers think less of her.

These lists of superficial things are a complete waste of time. It’s all relative to who you think is attractive. I find Brad Pitt (yeah, yeah) attractive, but I also find Michael Moore attractive because he has the guts to stand up for the United States of America and show the population what’s going on.

Posting a photo of some “geek” in a g-string is going to arouse most males, but I find it pointless. What? Does she host a podcast about lingerie? I don’t get it. I’m glad they included some redheads though.

Lastly, from this article alone I’ve concluded that The Manolith Team writes very poorly. They didn’t include links to 7/12 girls’ websites. That frustrates me to no end. Attribute the people in your articles. No geek fails to do that!

  • Justine is not a designer :/.

What ticks me off are girls who say they are HOT GEEKS just because they are female & aware of the internet. They don't even contribute to the technological world, but are famous for some reason.

People moving the world forward need the famous cup.
  • Well, I've seen Justine design some cool things back in the day.

The Dalai Lama is famous in my mind. He is giddy!
