A birthday Drobo

My birthday is coming up this week (see here for date) and I really haven’t planned anything. I was thinking of doing something cool because I’ll be 23. “23 on 23“?

In previous years I’ve set up a wishlist so that friends and family knew what to get me. It’s embarrassing for everyone when you get an Xbox game and you don’t even have an Xbox — let alone play video games. I still keep the wishlist updated with wishes, but my needs are at the top.

I’m not a ‘needy person’ at all, but I’ll occasionally require something in my life that I might not be able to afford to purchase. This year, that item is a Drobo. For the non-technical readers, a Drobo is basically a really large capacity external hard drive (for a computer) that is redundant (if it crashes, the data is still there).

The magic that makes it work is a patented system and that’s why it’s more expensive than a regular external hard drive. For the geeks, I’m simplifying this post so everyone can understand.

Aidan messaged me and asked if he could contribute towards my dream of a Drobo. Hence, this post and the following PayPal donate button.

Alternatively, Drobo’s are on Amazon, too.
