I love this tweet! I think like this daily. It helps.
Alrighty. So this got me thinking. I think a lot (just so you know).
PodCamps, conferences, Tweetups, CupcakeCamp, and everything like that is cool.
But what if there was more. More motivation. ONLY about the things you love.
“CareCamp” or just “Giddy” are names I’m thinking of so far.
What: If the word “camp” is in the event name, then it would literally be a camp. We go camping out in the wilderness. Everyone gets in touch with themselves. Everyone does what they love.
No need to promote your brand, although connections will be made. No need for a stage; everyone talks to everyone. No sad times.
An open air cinema would be cool too. Maybe Johnny Cupcakes would be interested in that.
If it wasn’t technically a camp, then there would be the issue of accommodation for those who don’t live in the location of the event. I would encourage those that live in the town/city of the event to offer a place for people to stay. And carpooling would be a must.
Hotels can be expensive and would result in some people not being able to attend the event. In the non-camp case, it might only be a one or two-day event.
Where: Worldwide. First one in Sydney, Australia? Early 2010?
* Depending on the location, any hobbies requiring electricity could be hindered. That said, maybe a ‘base station’ could come a long. Like a massive caravan decked out with Wi-Fi, 3G, and electricity.
Cost: If there’s a price for entry in to a national park, then maybe sponsors could cover that. Other than that, attendees could spend as much or as little as they want on tents, food, etc.
When: Let’s get the ideas rolling and then we’ll decide WHEN.
I’m thinking lots of frolicking would be involved. And lots of good fun with friends.
