I’m giving away all my “stuff”! (UPDATED again)

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

MAJOR UPDATE: Items crossed out have been sold or given away. There’s still lots available though!

This is a post aimed towards Australians (specifically my friends in Sydney), but anyone in the world can also take advantage of it.
It’s exactly two weeks before I zoom off on a plane to the USA. My ticket is one-way. [...]

I spent Australia Day inside

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

What’s new? I spend most days inside. Making. Creating. Moving this planet forward towards world peace.
I saw a story on the news about a week ago that mentioned Australians aren’t getting enough sun. Ha! They said there’s been an increase of people with Vitamin D deficiencies. Go figure; everyone’s on the internet. They (scientists/doctors) [...]

Are You Listening?

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

See that ‘listen now’ button above this text? That’s new, hey! Oooooo!
While reading some posts on Brandice’s blog I noticed she had the same button. Curiously, I clicked. Apparently the one on Brandice’s blog is broken. Nevertheless, I investigated some more.

Inconsistent Television Ratios

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

In early 2009 my family upgraded to an HDTV. Prior to that we had been through two or three fairly large (~60cm) CRT televisions.
For reference: our new TV is 42″, supports 1080p, and has a plethora of plugs at the back. Obviously it’s a 16:9 aspect ratio.
The 16:9 aspect ratio isn’t new. Television shows and [...]

Conan’s last episode delayed in Australia

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

As stated in my previous post, Australia gets a pretty raw deal in terms of content and technology. Yes, I understand there are higher lifestyle priorities such as food & water (many countries struggle to obtain these bare necessities), but hear me out.
Conan O’Brien’s final episode on The Tonight Show was broadcast less than 10 [...]

Please Unrestrict the World’s Content!

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

World. World… Yes, I’m talking to every single one of you!
For years I’ve had to live with the fact that Australia is treated like a second-rate citizen. Typically it’s because of the United States of America having a walled country in terms of content. Australia was settled by the British, but in the 21st [...]
