All about Seven
If you have known me for more than a month, then you’ll probably know I enjoy the number 7. A lot. I enjoy many numbers: 8 on it’s side is ∞; 3 is half of that; 5 just has an oddly cool shape. Almost everyone has a favourite number, and mine is definitely 7.
It can be written with (7) or without (7) a line through it. I prefer it with a line (sometimes it can look like a 1 if you don’t add the line). It’s a pretty simple shape, and it can be seen in many things; a square or rhombus is just two sevens joined together at the open sides. Think of how many square or rectangular objects are in front of you right now. Yeah. That’s seven.
Seven is also an odd number and a prime number. Odd things are always better than even things.
Here are some parts of my life that have had the number seven closely intertwined:
- There are seven days in a week, and I love it when the 7th, 14th, and 21st (multiples of 7) land on a Tuesday (my favourite day of the week).
- My 7th birthday party was rather exciting and memorable. Read about it here.
- My friend Sarah also enjoys the number seven. Her birthday lands on the 7th of November every year.
- When Rachel and I were dating we chose our anniversary to be on the 7th (technically, it was the 5th).
- One of my all-time favourite novels (audiobook) is the 7th Son Trilogy by J.C. Hutchins. It enthralled me week after week, and it featured the number seven quite heavily.
- My favourite television channel in Australia is Channel 7 because it has the majority of the best content on it. Plus, my Dad worked at Network Seven for many, many years.
Finally, here are some more photos of seven:
